An explosion was heard in Nigeria’s northeastern city of Maiduguri early on Saturday, a Reuters witness and security sources said.
The security sources could not immediately confirm the location or the nature of the blast. The city, the birthplace of Islamist militant group Boko Haram, is frequently hit by bomb attacks.
